(Reinstatement) |

Step 1. To request reinstatement (click here for requirements) of your certificate by mail and you are not currently employed in a Maryland local school system:
- Send a cover letter with your name, complete mailing address, social security number, personal e-mail address,certificate type, and validity dates of the last certificate issued. If you have a copy of the last certificate issued, send a photocopy.
- Submit official transcripts in an unopenened mailer for six (6) credits (either college/university) or MSDE Continuing Professional Development credits earned within the past five (5) years. Photocoies are not acceptable. Individuals holding certification in a teaching area must submit reinstatement credits in reading if the reading requirement has not been met. - Send a $10 money order, cashiers check, or certified check made payable to MSDE.

Step 2.
If all requirements for reinstatement have been met, we will notify you. If all requirements have not been met, we will send an evaluation that lists the remaining requirements and will refund your $10 fee under separate cover. | |
