Step 1. MSDE does not review specific documents from other countries. You must first obtain a course-by-course evaluation from a MSDE approved foreign evaluation agency. |
Step 2. To request a MSDE evaluation by mail, submit the following:
- Qualifying scores on a Basic skills assessment (Praxis 1, SAT, GRE, or ACT); Additional tests, Praxis II or ACTFL may be required for full professional certification but are not needed for an initial evaluation. A photocopy of the score report is acceptable;
- Original course-by-course evaluation from the approved foreign credentials evaluation agency;
- Official transcript(s) in an unopened mailer for all course work taken in the United States if applicable (community college, baccalaureate, post-baccalaureate, if applicable). Your transcript must show the degree and date of conferral. Student copies in an unopened mailer are also acceptable; and
- A cover letter with your name, complete mailing address, social security number, date of birth, and the area of certification for which you are seeking an evaluation. Day time telephone number and personal e-mail address are encouraged.

Step 3: We will review your academic credentials and send you an evaluation with the requirements needed for certification in the area requested. |
