A composite score (the sum of Praxis II content assessments) is acceptable for certification in Art (304), French (331), German (317), Music (301), Spanish (330) and Special Education (295).

*** This pedagogy test is not required for graduates of approved teacher preparation programs in foreign languages. It is a requirement only for candidates completing certification through transcript analysis or alternative preparation programs.


Please Note: 

Applicants seeking certification in a foreign language may meet the testing requirement by presenting qualifying scores on the Praxis II content assessments in the specific language or presenting qualifying scores on the ACTFL OPI and WPT for that language. The pedagogy test (0524) is not required for graduates of approved teacher preparation programs in foreign languages. It is a requirement only for candidates completing certification through transcript analysis or through alternative preparation programs.

NTE qualifying scores taken prior to June 30, 2000 may be accepted from in-state and out-of-state candidates for certification.  Scores must meet current qualifying scores if that test is still in use at the time of application for certification.
