Reading Courses

State required reading competencies were developed in 1999 by the Maryland State Task Force on Reading. The Reading Courses developed by Institutions of Higher Education with Teacher Education programs must be state approved and offered for all programs. Program Approval site visits include comprehensive review of approved reading courses and the implementation of these courses.
