NOTICE to Child Care License/Registration and Employment Applicants
Commercial LiveScan fingerprinting services are now available.  Private agencies ("commercial fingerprinting services") are authorized by COMAR 12.15.05 to submit fingerprints directly to the Maryland Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) for the purpose of obtaining criminal history record checks.  Electronic fingerprint applications produce fast, reliable background check results.  At present, there are several private agencies certified by Maryland CJIS to provide LiveScan fingerprint services.  They offer services at a variety of locations around the state.  Click here for a list of these agencies and information about their services.

NOTICE TO PARENTS AND PROVIDERS:
Maryland's Child Passenger Safety Law was changed effective June 30, 2008.  Under this change, every child under 8 years old must ride in an appropriate child restraint unless the child is 4 feet, 9 inches or taller, or weighs more than 65 pounds.  Every child from 8 to 16 years old who is not secured in a child restraint must be secured in a vehicle seat belt.  If you would like to learn more about this law, or would like information on selecting or using child restraints, please call Maryland Kids in Safety Seats (Maryland KISS) at 410-767-6016 or log on to www.mdkiss.org.
