Interagency Collaboration Branch

The Interagency Collaboration Branch coordinates multiple, statewide service initiatives for children and students, ages birth through 21 in collaboration with The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Human Resources/Department of Social Services, Department of Disabilities, and Department of Juvenile Services. The Branch implements and manages Maryland's Medicaid Autism Waiver and health related Medicaid program for children and youth. Responsibilities include technical assistance and monitoring of Autism Waiver and Medicaid services offered by local school systems, special education nonpublic schools and other public and private agencies. Intergovernmental Transfer of State funds to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for collaborative services, communication on federal and State Medicaid regulations, training/technical assistance to LSS on student behavior, and the implementation of evidence based practices and interventions are managed by the Branch. Additional responsibilities include: administering the rate setting process for residential child-care providers, child placement agencies, and nonresidential child care programs. Additionally, the Branch is responsible for the administration of the Maryland Infants and Toddlers Program - Early Intervention Services Family Survey, the Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey, the provision of training and technical support on behavior intervention and coordination of multi-agency initiatives that support children with special needs and their families.
