State Interagency Coordinating Council

The role of the State Interagency Coordinating Council (SICC) is to advise and assist the State lead agency (MSDE) and its interagency partners in achieving full participation, coordination, and cooperation of all appropriate public agencies in the State in implementing and improving the early childhood intervention and education system of services for children ages birth to five with disabilities and their families.

Mission Statement

The mission of the SICC is to ensure that prevention and early intervention services for infants, toddlers, and young children with disabilities and those at risk of developmental delay are family-centered, interagency, flexible and community based, and coordinated; to facilitate family and professional collaboration in the planning and implementation of comprehensive policies and programs that provide support to young children and their families; and to promote the development of accessible and responsive early intervention service delivery systems in Maryland.

Membership

The SICC is comprised of stakeholders in Maryland's early intervention and education system of services for children ages birth to five. Membership includes parents of children with disabilities, service providers, personnel preparation staff from local universities, state agency administrators, and Sate legislators.

Meetings

SICC meetings are open to the public. All are welcome. Special needs requests, including interpreter and translator services, should be provided at least 2 weeks prior to a scheduled meeting to allow enough time to secure a service provider.
