Department of Juvenile Services/MSDE Transition Teams

This initiative is to facilitate a smooth transition for students from a Department of Juvenile Services facility back to the local school system.  Each jurisdiction has established a central office transition team to:

• Review student's progress while at the detention facilty;
• Evaluate the educational and scoial needs when the student returns to their home school; and
• Determine a school placement that is most advantageous for the student.
