Youth Suicide Prevention

You can help! Never ignore warning signs of suicide.

It is estimated that four of five suicide victims demonstrated identifiable warning signs before completing suicide. It is essential that school personnel be trained and knowledgeable about warning signs of youth suicide and the process for assisting students who may be considering suicide.

The following resources from the National Association of School Psychologists provide helpful information about warning signs of youth suicide:

Times of Tragedy: Preventing Suicide in Troubled Children and Youth, Part I

Save a Friend: Tips for Teens to Prevent Suicide
