The Office of Grants Administration and Resource Development, under the direction of Bernard J. Sadusky, provides expertise in designing, developing, and managing major program initiatives for the Office of the State Superintendent. This includes coordinating the pursuit, acquisition, and management of external funds from public and private sources; ensuring high standards of the MSDE Grant Monitoring Process (sub-grants to local school systems); overseeing special projects; and facilitating communication among internal and external constituencies in the development and management of programs.
PUBLIC NOTICE
The General Education Provisions Act (GEPA) requires Maryland to make the proposed Application for funds under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) available for public review for 60 days and to accept comments for at least 30 days.

GRANTS/REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS
Sexual Harrassment and Assault Prevention
Deadline: Applications must be received no later than Friday, June 15, 2012 by 2 p.m.
Purpose: To support strategies and initiatives to prevent sexual harassment and assault first time perpetration and victimization in schools through planning, development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive primary prevention programs. Programs will represent a timely shift from awareness to primary prevention. Grants will be awarded to eligible school systems. It is expected that the sexual harassment/assault prevention program will be integrated within health education and pupil services. Both instructional and pupil service personnel must be involved in the implementation of the grant. Local school systems will be provided opportunities for staff training and technical assistance to implement the sexual harassment/assault prevention and other related content areas. |
