WHAT: This is the Main Council’s third meeting. A 30-minute public comment period will open the meeting. Comment will be limited to three minutes per person and must be on the topic of parent involvement in education. Dr. Peiffer will share insights from the Visionary Panel and the work of its subcommittees in constructing the final report. Mr. Kernan-Schloss, a Virginia-based educational communicator with national expertise in parent leadership issues, will discuss quality parent involvement. Subcommittee members will join Main Council members in breakout sessions to discuss several key issues relative to the work of the Education Policy, Parent Involvement, and Nontraditional Communications subcommittees. Consensus will be reached on next steps as well as on a timeline to meet objectives.
