STATE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS TO DELIVER REMARKS AT SUMMER INSTITUTE FOR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT IN HOWARD COUNTY
BALTIMORE, MD (June 20, 2007)

WHO: Dr. Nancy S. Grasmick, State Superintendent of Schools
         Sandra J. Erickson, Deputy Superintendent, Howard County Public Schools

WHAT: Dr. Grasmick will address administrators and other school leaders of Howard County schools as they meet to analyze current school improvement initiatives and develop new and innovative ideas to enhance student achievement at the 2007 Summer Institute for School Improvement.

The conference will address Maryland's history of school improvement, the impact of the federal No Child Left Behind Act, and the mission for educators for the future. Additionally, attendees will continue their school improvement plan process as they collaborate with their colleagues across the county.
