WHAT: Dr. Sadusky will join other education leaders at Bonnie Branch Middle School and Ilchester Elementary School to observe Financial Literacy Instruction and discuss Howard County's model for implementing Financial Literacy Education. Further, Dr. Sadusky and others will briefly tour each school and make the following classroom visits:
- Family and Consumer Science class led by Irene Williams – Bonnie Branch Middle School
- Fourth grade class led by Katie McKevitt – Ilchester Elementary School
Maryland has taken significant steps to improve the financial literacy of its students. Since the commencement of the school year, all 24 local school systems are implementing a program of instruction in financial literacy education. Recognizing the importance of early and ongoing instruction in financial literacy education as a means to transform student behavior related to finances, each program will begin in grade three and continue through high school.
