About Hampstead Hill Academy:

Hampstead Hill Academy converted from traditional public school status to charter school status in 2005.

A few of the accomplishments that Hampstead Hill Academy has achieved are listed below:

• In 2008, 3rd and 6th graders performed above the state average in reading AND math.
• Eighth graders leave Hampstead Hill Academy prepared to perform well in highly selective public and private high schools, college and beyond.

Program Philosophy and Model:

• Hampstead Hill Academy selects its own exciting curriculum.
• The school has autonomy in its staff selection and in decisions regarding day-to-day budget decisions that reflect the best interests of students.
• Hampstead Hill Academy aims to provide educational programs and resources that meet the individual strengths and needs of each student.
• Learning Environment:
• Hampstead Hill Academy provides an environment where children can best develop positive attitudes about themselves and their responsibilities to family and society.
• Students receive physical education, instrumental music, band, computer science, art, library and nutrition class.
• After school programs include gardening, ceramics, journalism, and athletics that further enhance learning.
• Several classrooms are equipped with promethium boards and the school promotes a state-of-the-art science and computer lab.

Student Support Programs and Services:

Hampstead Hill Academy staffs an intervention teacher to service students requiring focused assistance in a particular area and also provides regular education teachers with assistance in developing and implementing accommodations for children.
