Google Earth Lessons is a free public resource created by teachers, for teachers, to give educators tools and ideas for using the free Google Earth software in their classrooms. Using the ideas and resources found on this site, teachers of all subjects and grade levels can incorporate Google Earth into their curriculum. A section called "Google Earth How-tos" gives educators the basic skills they need to use the software, and a discussion section includes threads for exchanging ideas on a variety of topics. Users also can search for lessons by content area, share lessons with other, search through a library of screenshots, and more. All that is needed to use the lessons is a free download of Google Earth software.

Atlas of Population and the Environment  (AAAS)  has a number of maps on a wide variety of topics, which you can download and use in presentations.

Earthtrends (World Resources Institute ) where you will find a huge, searchable database of statistics on a wide range of issues related to population and consumption. You can search and download information for specific countries, sets of countries, regions, and years.

The Maryland Department of Planning (MDP) is offering Census View 2000, a data application for Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Census View 2000 enables users to generate community profiles of Population and Housing Characteristics for Maryland's Census 2000 Geographic Layers.

Maryland Historical Trust Geographic Information System
The Division of Historical and Cultural Programs launched a major initiative in late 1991 with its development of a Geographic Information System (GIS) for Maryland's cultural resources. The GIS is designed to link Maryland's cultural resources inventories through a user-friendly map interface. The primary system data consist of the inventories of historic properties and archeological sites, the statewide record of archeological survey coverage, the National Register of Historic Places, and the Maryland Historical Trust's preservation easement holdings.
