Chesapeake Bay 2000

Chesapeake Bay 2000 Agreement

On June 28, 2000, the Chesapeake Bay Program adopted a new Bay agreement, Chesapeake 2000: A Watershed Partnership, that will guide the next decade of restoration in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The Stewardship and Community Engagement provision of the Chesapeake Bay 2000 Agreement set education and outreach as a goal. Specifically, the agreement states that " Beginning with the class of 2005, (the state will) provide a meaningful Bay or stream outdoor experience for every school student in the watershed before graduation fom high school".

What is a meaningful Bay or stream experience?
