Danny Reed, Special Education and Mathematics Teacher
Chopticon High School, St. Mary's County

A native of Oklahoma and twenty-two year veteran and major in the Army National Gueard; Danny Reed has taught for 16 years. Danny earned his Bachelor of Science degree ini Special Education, K-12, specializing in learning disabilities in 1990 from Central State University. He has taught at Chopticon High School in St. Mary's County for the past six years. Danny helped pilot the first co-taught math class in St. Mary's County and continues to co-teach Geometry and Algebra. Danny has participated in both Governor's Academies (Algebra/Data Analysis and Geometry). This summer, he plans to co-teacher the Governor's Academy for Algebra.
