Patricia Phillips, Reading Teacher
Phelps Luck Elementary School, Howard County

To me, success is measured one student at a time. I value the importance of building a strong foundation in reading, and I continue to stress the importance of developing strong literacy skills at school and at home. Together with my team, I led the charge in creating a home-school connection reading program. To see a child's world grow with enthusiasm for reading continues to be my greatest accomplishment. As a reading specialist, I have pulled all of my experience together to create a program to accelerate learning for below level readers. Reading opens the mind to many opportunities.
