Mission: To promote excellence in service-learning programs and provide peer leadership in this field in Maryland and throughout the nation. Fellows are teachers who create exemplary service-learning experiences for their students and are willing and able to share their expertise and enthusiasm with their peers. Up to 10 new Fellows are selected each year to join our pool of master service-learning teachers. As of 2010, Maryland had more than 212 Fellows representing all 24 school districts in the state. The names and activities of our Fellows are included in each school district's Local Info webpage. Fellows mentor and train teachers and administrators in service-learning. They are members of their school district's "service-learning team"," they write curricula and articles, and promote the use of service-learning as an effective teaching tool in Maryland and the nation. These are the expected outcomes of full participation in the Fellow's Program. The bullets underneath each outcome are delineated as either a program requirement or an option for meeting the outcome. Fellow's action plans may include additional activities not reflected on this list.
