Technology
The Instructional Technology Unit provides leadership, coordination, and support services in the implementation of the Maryland Plan for Technology in Education and the integration of technology in Maryland schools. As part of that implementation, the Unit administers the federal Enhancing Education through Technology program that provide technology funding to local school districts. It also administers the Maryland Virtual Learning Opportunities program (MVLO), Maryland's web-based learning initiative, a program providing online courses to Maryland students and educators and supporting services for local school systems.
