Title III Monitoring Plan

The purpose of the on-site and off-site monitoring of Title III and ESOL programs across the state of Maryland will be to ensure that elements of the English Language Acquisition, Language Enhancement and Academic Achievement Act as outlined in Section 3102 have been addressed by local school districts. Emergency Immigrant Education programs where appropriate are being carried out in accordance with the list of allowable activities Section 3115 (e) and Title III programs where appropriate are being carried out in accordance with the list of required and allowable activities in Section 3115.

Monitoring Instrument for Title III Services

Off-Site Monitoring

Each LEA receiving Title III funds will be required to submit a mid-point progress report in June detailing the fiscal status, accomplishments thus far and future plans. Each LEA will also be required to submit a final report at the close of the Title III grant detailing achievements and fiscal status. Based on the information provided by the LEA a determination will be made on the action required. Each LEA will be given written and verbal feedback on their report and advised of any ensuing action.
