Maryland Advisory Council on Libraries (MACL)

MACL provides guidance to DLDS. MACL is charged by state law with gathering information about the needs of the libraries and making recommendations to the governor and other elected officials. It consists of twelve members, seven appointed by the governor and five selected from the public at large. MACL represents the interests of Maryland citizens for better library services, advises all levels of government, and promotes the improvement of services in all libraries. It is the only organization in Maryland that has responsibility for all types of libraries, and has a long record providing successful leadership when library issues arise.
