Maryland College Application Campaign (MCAC)

For the first time, Juvenile Services Education System (JSES) partnered with MCAC and the Maryland College Application Campaign to assist students with navigating the college application process and encourage students and their parents to pursue post-secondary education.

On October 23-27, 2017 all 13 JSES schools participated in College Week.  School counselors provided classroom guidance lessons, organized school-wide activities, and hosted guest speakers all in an effort to create a college-going culture for the students. Students made posters, banners, and t-shirts; both JSES and DJS staff participated in “rep your college” day, wearing the sweatshirt representing the college they attended. Staff members from the Office of Career and College readiness as well as MHEC also participated in the JSES college week activities and hosted guest speakers all in an effort to create a college-going culture for the students.
