Social Studies Standards Survey

The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is conducting a review of the state’s six social studies standards. The six standards describe what students should know and be able to do as result of their PreK-12 social studies education.  Your feedback is extremely important to ensuring that all students in Maryland receive a rigorous social studies education from PreK-12th grade. Click on the link below to take the brief survey.

Social Studies Standards Survey
The survey will remain open through June 30, 2018.

The aim of social studies is the promotion of civic competence—the knowledge, intellectual processes, and democratic dispositions required of students to be active and engaged participants in public life... The primary purpose of social studies is to help young people make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world. –
