Reporting for Higher Education Act
In accordance with Sections 205 through 208 of the Title II of the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA), the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is required to submit an annual report to the U.S. Department of Education on the quality of its teacher preparation programs. The report details certification structure, certification requirements for new teachers, pass rate data for all teacher preparation institutions, as well as information regarding state standards, alternative certification, and numbers of individuals certified each year.
Maryland approved teacher preparation programs report annually to the State in April. MSDE reports annually to the U.S. Department of Education in October. Annual Maryland reports including data files are available on the
Title II Higher Education Act website
