Student Data Privacy Council

Senate Bill 325 re-established the Student Data Privacy Council initially established in 2019. The Council will continue to study the development and implementation of the Student Data Privacy Act of 2015, examine similar laws and best practices in other states, review and analyze development in technologies as they relate to student data privacy, and note recommendations regarding statutory and regulatory changes to the Student Data Privacy Act. The Council will present a report of its findings and recommendations to the Governor of Maryland and the Maryland General Assembly by December 1, 2025.

The Council will meet quarterly until September 2028. Meetings of the Council are open to members of the public.
